Музыкальная история «Prodigy» (сейчас «The Prodigy») началась в 1991 году, когда появился их первый мини-альбом «What Evil Lurks», состоящий преимущественно из ранних работ молодого Лайэма Хоулетта. Сингл не остался незамеченным тогдашней рейв сценой и сразу попал в ротацию по различным клубам. Даже в наше время этот диск считается едва ли не культовой hardcore вещью, оригинал которой уже практически невозможно нигде достать. После успешного релиза их дебютного сингла группа отправилась в турне по Великобритании, выступая преимущественно в небольших андеграундных клубах. Но уже их первый заграничный концерт в Италии был восторженно воспринят итальянскими рейверами. Они провозгласили «Prodigy» лучшей группой тогдашней рейв-сцены.

Musical Story «Prodigy» ( now «The Prodigy») began in 1991 , when there was their first mini-album «What Evil Lurks», consisting mainly of the early works of the young Liam Howlett . The single did not go unnoticed by the then rave scene and immediately got into the rotation at various clubs . Even today this disc is perhaps the cult hardcore thing , the original of which is almost impossible to get anywhere . After the successful release of their debut single, the band went on tour in the UK , speaking mainly in small underground clubs. But their first overseas concert in Italy was enthusiastically received by the Italian ravers . They proclaimed «Prodigy» best group was then rave scene .
